About Me (Nara)
This is a very small company with the only desire to experience Mongolia the way it should be experienced. Our goal is not to make a lot money, but rather take you to areas where foreigners are sometimes not seen for years, or sometimes never seen. When my friend, an American man, first went to these areas, an old man wanted to see the foreigner as he heard foreigners have three eyes. He had never seen a foreigner before.
I am a Mongolian lady, half Chinese and half Mongolian who grew up on the far deep grasslands of Hulum Burr. I speak more than enough English to be plainly understood and engage in a deep complex conversation, plus of course, fluent Chinese and Mongolian.
The other people you will meet. They are mostly Mongolian.
Nara has gone to these areas many times, and knows the area, hotels, nature, where there are Mongolian tents, and so on very well. Many places are family, such as the site I like best where there is a Mongolian tent, a small creek, mountains, total isolation, and herds of sheep, cows, and horses.
Because there are only a few persons, and no office staff, prices are much less expensive and not "touristy". Our "office" is email (sometimes wireless), and cell phones. Compare prices. We have. The prices for my comparable experience is the same as a "tourist" experience. If you don't want me to come to save money, I can arrange a driver only if you can speak Chinese or Mongolian. If you want more of a "tourist" experience, tell me or choose another travel place.
However, you must use email or telephone to contact me. Please understand, I may be unreachable by telephone. Sometimes I am deep in the grasslands where there is no cell phone signal. I will answer email ASAP, but if I have no signal, I can't. I try to check email daily. With a wireless PDA and INTERNET enabled cell phone, it is easy if I have a signal.
We thrive on independent travellers who can "swing with changes". However, we know some want a defined trip, so we have put together several itineraries. Either can be changed, altered, or expanded. It depends on you, your time, and what you want.
Here is the contact information:

My telephone number: 187-48233235
I am based in UlanHot near the grasslands of Inner Mongolia
This is a China Mobile Phone Number. You can dial this number directly in China anyplace. Hotel room, pay phone, etc. Outside of China this is a long distance call to China. You must add the appropriate prefix numbers. For example, in the USA you would call:
011-86-x-18748233235
011- is the International Prefix for calling Internationally.
-86- is the country code for China.
x is the city code for UlanHot in Inner Mongolia. Our telephones are based out of UlanHot.
If you are in another country, you will have to ask your telephone company. Remember, outside of China, this is an international Long Distance call.
Why travel with me?
Because I know the area best, have travelled extensively, and speak Mongolian. Simple.
Many people speak Mongolian, but do not know the area and culture and speak English. Did you know that although theoretically Mongolian is the same language in Inner Mongolia and Outer Mongolia, it is different? The key is the ability to speak fluent Mongolian. Ask around. Even "local guides" may not speak fluent Mongolian. I have even met Mongolian guides who cannot speak Mongolian. They would be a walrus on the grasslands. I have not met one yet who speaks fluent Mongolian and knows the area after travelling in these areas many times.
What can we offer
Customized tours to little visited areas of Inner Mongolia. I have traveled extensively to Thailand, India, Laos, China, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, etc.. and know what to provide in a tour. I understand the needs of Westerners, even in the deep country.
As said earlier, we thrive on independent travellers to little visited places, acting mainly as guides, helpers, and translators. We can arrange a "fancier" trip, but this must be to larger towns and cities where there are better hotels, not the country. If you want to make a few night trip into the grassland country, you can.
I do not think any English speaking Mongolian guide knows the grassland culture better than me.
